Industry, Trade Ministry to discuss IKEA's Russian plans next week
VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 6 (PRIME) -- Russia's Industry and Trade Ministry expects that IKEA would not leave the market finally and plans to meet with the executives next week to discuss company plans, Deputy Minister Viktor Yevtukhov said on Tuesday.
"We expect that IKEA will not leave finally, they said so preliminarily earlier… We will meet with the executives again next week and will understand their plans for the future," Yevtukhov said.
Media reported at the end of August that IKEA was not looking for a buyer for its business in Russia and might relaunch stores and warehouses in two years, while about 700 employees would continue working for the company.
